Volunteer Position: Board Treasurer

Do you have a combined interest in the Performing Arts and Finance? Read on!

The Board of Directors of The Friends of Jericho Arts Centre (FOJACS), is seeking a qualified volunteer to serve as the Board’s Treasurer. FOJACS is the not for profit society that manages the Jericho Arts Centre.

The Job: The Treasurer maintains the bookkeeping for the Society recording financial transactions and creating financial reports in addition to participating in all Board decisions. Duties include offering financial guidance to the Board and posting financial data to accounting software from such source documents as invoices, cash receipts, contracts and supplier/contractor invoices on a monthly basis – the budget is relatively small and the number of transactions is few. Duties include reconciliation of accounts monthly ensuring their accuracy, preparation of current financial reports for each of the Board’s meetings (approx. ten or less per year), and preparation of the year-end Financial Statements for review by the Board’s auditor and presentation to the AGM. Preparation and submission of the annual CRA reports is also required.

Required Skills: Experience in keeping the books for a small not for profit organization. A background in the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous but a working knowledge of Quickbooks Online accounting software is necessary.

Volunteer Position: Member of the Board of Directors of FOJAC

The Friends of Jericho Arts Centre (FOJAC) Board of Directors is seeking new members. This Board oversees all activity at the Jericho Arts Centre. We meet monthly for 2 ½ hours in person or on Zoom.com. Do you have experience and skills in business, or the arts, communications, people management,  book keeping, fund raising, grant writing, marketing, or any of the many skills it takes for a community organization to thrive?  If you are interested in participating in this vibrant artistic community please contact Adam Henderson, Acting Chairman of FOJAC, at info@jerichoartscentre.com

Volunteers are needed at Jericho Arts Centre behind the scenes, front of house, and in the office.

Jericho Arts Centre always welcomes volunteers.

There are many opportunities for creative participation: set design, costume design, set decoration, set dressing, lighting design, sound design, graphic design, props, set construction, carpentry, set painting, electrical, technical, lighting, sewing, crafts, dressers, stage managers, front-of-house, box office (tickets), selling concession, and publicity.

Volunteer Form

The Jericho Arts Centre helps and enables organizations to perform Theartre, Music & Dance in its theatre. We also present displays of visual art. We have an on-going need for many volunteers for administration and production support. Production organizations who use JAC also provide many oportunites for performers and a wide range of production tasks. If you want to volunteer for JAC, please complete this form and we will contact you when we need your skills.

All volunteers in JAC are required to be members of the Friends of JAC Society and, currently, volunteer effort is accepted in lieue of dues for membership.
